Hong Kong’s rainy season during the summer months means you’ll be looking for somewhere dry to practice! Fortunately there’s now a plethora of options available, both operated by the Government ( see website here for details: LCSD) under a somewhat convoluted system as well as a number of private gyms – see below and links for details of these.

Lead Walls

Kai Tak Sports Park operated by Just Climb

The newest addition to the climbing wall scene in Hong Kong includes a plethora of options for you to play on, including a 17.5 m high lead wall, a speed climbing wall, a top rope wall and an auto-belay top rope wall too.

YMCA Kings Park
An 18m high outdoor leading wall with approx. 25 routes up it. Requires a simple assessment to be taken prior to use. (Ropes and quickdraws can be hired)

LCSD Operated Climbing Walls
A full list of the government operated climbing walls can be found here. However, these can only be used following completion of an assessment course (Sport Climbing Training Certificate at Level 2 or above issued by the National Sports Association (NSA) – see here for one of the courses to obtain this, although seems finding a course in English is pretty hard these days… 🙁

Bouldering Walls
