Hello climbers!
I am based in Canada and will be traveling to Hong Kong from October 1 – October 11. As of now, I only plan on bringing my shoes and harness but I can bring rope and draws if needed!
I’m comfortable leading up to 5.12 (US grading) but I will climb anything with anyone, as long as we’re having fun! I’m also interested in bouldering inside if that’s your thing. If you’re psyched to crush some rock with a friendly traveling climber then give me a shout ng.greg@gmail (email or facebook).
Hello all, I’ve just moved to HK in the past few months from Tokyo and am looking to establish some climbing partnerships. I do not have a long history on rock but did quite a bit of indoor climbing in Tokyo (up to 5c) and got outside for sport climbing (low, mid 5s). I’m solid on a belay and looking to up my game and do more challenging stuff.
I have my own gear (50m rope, small collection of draws, etc.). I’m usually available on weekends.
If you need a partner, please reach out to me at michael_oshaughnessy@hotmail.com

Hi All,
I’ll be in HK on a business trip from July 10th to July 24th. Am staying by the university in Sha Tin. Am keen to climb in the evenings after work and meet some other climbers- can anybody tell me what the closest/best climbing gym would be to that neighborhood? Would love to climb outdoors too and could bring my rack and rope if necessary, but I’m not sure it’s worth it judging from what the weather seems to be in July there, would love some advice on that front too if you’ve got any!
Hey Amy — Just Climb is in Diamond Hill: Train to Kowloon Tong, transfer to MTR and three more stops, then a short walk to the gym. Six more stops to Go Nature; both are bouldering gyms. Go Nature is worth the extra travel time, IMO. And, if the weather is good and you can ever skip out of work a little bit early, Beacon Hill has outdoor climbing in Kowloon Tong. Plenty of people climbing outside weather permitting, so you could get by without a rope and rack. PS: Weather is hot and humid. Last weekend, temps of 33C… Read more »
Thanks so much for the info Brian, I really appreciate it! I’ve been scoping out gyms online and I think I’ll get a month pass to Go Nature, seems like it’ll be my cheapest option if I go often enough!

I will be spending the month of July in HK and want to climb as much as possible. My schedule is flexible so I can climb pretty much any time, any day. Also, I’m planning on buying new gear while I’m in town. Does anyone have an opinion about shops to visit or avoid?
Hi there, just came back from NYC, going to be in Hong Kong till June 15, anyone going out bouldering?
I don’t have a crash pa but I have my shoes and my chalk, been climbing for about 2 years in NY, went out a few times would really like to climb out once in HK before I leave. Though to be honest this heat and humidity is killing me = =
I’ll probably go to GoNature climbing gym in Kwon Tong in the next few days to pick up my slack.

Hi Simon,
I’m a London-based climber who recently launched ‘Climb Buddy’ – a free app (both android and iOS) to help you find people to climb with – see http://www.buddyseries.com. I’m keen to trial it in Hong Kong, and wondered if you’d like to try it out? I’d welcome your feedback!

I have been climbing for a while and I am keen on anything from bouldering to multi pitch. I should have all the necessary gear (expect the double rope which I am sadly leaving behind…), so if anyone is keen on sharing a session outdoors or even indoors, please give me a shout : pierre.gaucherand@gmail.com

It would be great to meet people with the same passion 🙂 I will be in Hong Kong till end of May.

Condition is like new, size 40. Color is blue. Very comfortable, not too aggressive. I reckon they’d work for someone in the 40-41 size range. Let me know if this is your thing; I’m willing to part with them for way less than the retail price.
Cheers,
Will
Hello,
I am looking for a partner to go climbing in HK Friday May 1st. Nothing too serious: 4b,5a (5.7;5.8). Let me know if interested!
Hi Simon,
I’m a London-based climber who recently launched ‘Climb Buddy’ – a free app (both android and iOS) to help you find people to climb with – see
http://www.buddyseries.com. I’m keen to trial it in Hong Kong, and wondered if you’d like to try it out? I’d welcome your feedback!
Cheers,

Looking for someone to climb with 4/18-4/19 weekend. Would prefer bouldering, but am also open to single-pitch sport climbing (can lead up to 5.12a, will have a harness and maybe a few draws, but no rope). If interested in partnering up, please send me a message at eduard.antonyangmail.com
Hey Ed, I am looking for partner to climb the weekend too. I sent you an email. Hope to heard from you. Cheers. CK
Hey CK, I didn’t get an email. Note, the website dropped the “@” sign before gmail.com in my email above, so it’s eduard.antonyan at gmail.com
Hey Ed, I resent the email. Please check if you receive it?
Hi,
I am moving to HK for two years on the 25th of April 2015 and I am really keen on discovering all the climbing areas around there!

HI Climbers,
I will visit Hong Kong during April 18-22. I would like to plan some outdoor climbs during my stay in Hong Kong. It is my first visit to Hong Kong.
Are there any climbers familiar with local crags and keen to partner me to climb?
I can lead 6a+/6b at my local crags (Malaysia/ Singapore). I can bring draws and maybe rope.
Please contact me mail: czkiam[at]gmail.com
Thx
CK
Hi!
I have just moved to Hong Kong, have brought my shoes etc and hoping to do some bouldering / climbing at the weekends!
Is anyone interested in doing something outdoors or indoors this weekend on Friday/Monday/Tuesday? I am on +85253150527 . Hope to meet some of you soon! Maria x
Forgot to mention – I’m think I’m about 5/5+ at the moment… A bit out of practice, but was bouldering a fair bit back home just before coming out to get back into it, so it’s a work in progress…!
If you’re not afraid to try harder stuff, you can come with us on Monday or Tuesday. But bewareÑ we usually push people to their limits. 😉

Hello.
My name is Maria I am from Germany. I am here on student exchange at the HKUST and I brought my climbing equipment with me. But I don´t have quick draws and a rope. It would be nice to join somebody with the rest of the equipment who also can climb routs between 4 and 6+ or better 🙂
It would be great to meet people with the same passion 🙂 I will be in Hong Kong till end of May.
Cheers!
Hi, my name is Robin, and I’ve been in Hong Kong since August and will be staying here till the end of May. I’m pretty much only a boulderer at this point and was a member of Just Climb last year and currently. I’m intermediate, climbing mostly V2 and V3. I haven’t really been outdoors much, but I’d love to go bouldering somewhere in Hong Kong. All I have is chalk and shoes unfortunately, but if anyone has plans to go or wants to get in touch, let me know! Email is robindey@usc.edu

Hey guys, I’m visiting HK until mid January, and will be located in Shek O. If anyone lives or plans any climbing or bouldering trips to Shek O, please let me know (pierresieur ALT gmail). I unfortunately only have my shoes, harness, chalk bag and belaying device and am therefore lacking crash pads and ropes. Look forward to getting some much needed climbing in!
Anyone know the main similarities/differences between GoNature and Just Climb?
If anyone’s interested in hitting up either of these bouldering gyms this weekend, it’d be fun to get a crew together, hmu
